My family has been trying to start a tradition where we write in the bottom of the basket where it was given, so people can follow its history through the various gifts it’s been used for.
We helped some friends move and gave them a house warming basket: a bottle of wine, a bottle of aspirin, and a box of trash bags.
Buy a basket (thrift stores generally have stacks of them cheap). Buy good stuff your recipient likes. Get some tissue paper or fake grass. Done.
