Actually, I hear a lot of odd children’s names these days. Boog and Rover will hardly stand out soon, and Corky and Skeezix might be the popular names of the next decade.
It’s good to have seen 5 generations of the Wallet-Skinner family. We have seen not only family life but adoption, Clovia as a business owner and now a man who is not ashamed to show his feelings and a son who is proud of him for doing it. These are the kinds of stories we like to see and kudos to Jim for continuing the tradition of realistic family life reflecting changing times. For this we will forgive him for the sillier stories most of us resent as a departure from the continuing saga of a multigenerational family.
Parents are usually sad only the first year they send their “baby” off to school, and usually go with them because the child is more anxious than they are. Boog doesn’t seem that young … he gets on the bus, seems to know the girl, and the comment about having fun and being good sounds like an older child.

“How can I - and be good too?” Now there’s a classic elementary student’s line!

Rover looks like Rover.
The one from “Red and Rover”. Same hang-dog expression when the school bus leaves.
