Eric Manu was working as a landscaper in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, when he was called to return to his native Ghana to become king of the Akan tribe. Ha! Ha!! More people are afraid of spiders than of death itself, but you are more likely to be killed by a champagne cork them by a venomous spider. Black pepper is actually a fruit!

How did Eric’s tribes folk know how to get ahold of him? Long live the king I guess. As for corks being more killing than spiders, one word: ouch.

Remember to wear safety glasses, grasp the the cork firmly with a towel, and twist just the bottle.

I worked in a restaurant have tons of practice on champagne. Often wondered about black pepper. Last year I found out that Paprika is a pepper. Grew some and made my own spice.

Eric would have never known he was needed if he had just left the email in the “spam” folder and deleted it.

Has some actuary tabulated that risk of death by champagne??? What an elegant way to go-wonder just how many cork deaths there have been so far-now THAT would be an interesting Ripley statistic

Did you know that green, red, and white peppercorns are the same as black and come from the plant Piper nigrum. The color comes from the different degrees of ripeness when they are harvested and have different characteristics.
Pink peppercorns, however, are from a different plant, but similar enough that they get lumped in with real peppercorns and lose their identity…

I doubt the cork thing, I looked it up and could find nobody killed by a flying cork, lots of injuries but no deaths. I’m sure somebody died of a spider bite.

I’m recovering from a series of Brown Recluse bites. Death isn’t what scares me. It’s the pain involved with the bites. I hope I never have to go through that again!!!
