Of course, Lucy forgot to mention that Charlie Brown (and the little red-haired girl) would be flown First Class to New York City from Minneapolis-St. Paul (Schulz’s native hometown, and so why not?). Roundtrip, of course! American Airlines, First Class ALL THE WAY, BOTH WAYS! Ah, but then again, I guess it was implied! LOL!

For the April Fool’s joke, I prefer rigging something rather than doing something verbally…

As a gullible, trusting soul, I was often the butt of these kinds of “jokes”.

Charlie Brown, now all dejected: “Well, I do know one award I’ll get this year: ‘Stomachache of the Year’! If there were such an award!”

Lucy said she was going to get Charlie Brown in yesterday’s strip. I was expecting that she would do nothing and let him stew with anticipation of what might happen.

The real April Fool’s joke is that Lucy would NEVER call any other girl “pretty”!

I usually pretend to be taken in just to get it over with. Whenever I dismiss people’s prank lies they usually come back and want to argue the point with me as though it were true until I fall for it.

So:

1) I act like I believe them,2) they laugh and tell me it’s a joke and just got had, then3) they go away.

Easy.

Am I the only one who thought Charlie Brown would remember it was April Fool’s Day?

Guess I still need to read the strip for a few more years.

Ironically she didn’t need to wait for April Fools to pull this cruel joke. She’s the kind that would do jokes like this any time of the year. And also the kind to yell how unfair and cruel it is when pulled on them.

I’m not surprised Charlie Brown fell for that. He falls for the same football trick every year. This was just minor leagues.
