I’m not big on racing, but I thought the checkered flag was thrown after the winner passed the ‘finish’ line?

I was expecting Horace to be thrown flat on his back by the cable across the road.

Isn’t Horace going the wrong way?

It appears to me Horace’s victory might be in limbo…
