Please, TEMPLO. Let the racists have their fun. They call white people racist, but the real racists are the people who think others (blacks, Latinos, etc.) were cheated out of their award. The only trouble is, they never say who they think should be kicked out so a black or Latino could get the award. They just want to bitch because it “Looks good on paper”.

@Night -Gaunt49 As I said before. Who would you take the nomination away from to give it to someone else. I don’t know what you mean “not one performance was recognized”. There was hundreds of performances recognized. I guess they weren’t in the color that pleased you. . When no white players were named to start the all star basketball team did you protest then? Or are your protests just directed at whites.

I don’t give a rats ass about any entertainment awards. It’s all a bunch of baloney anyway.

Why do they bother broadcasting that stuff? How many of us real people care? BTW, I’ve see pictures of that “oscar” thing and it is hideous. Who would want that ugly thing in their house?

NONE of us was born during the slavery era, yet it’s pushed in our faces daily.

Night-Gaunt 49 Where you see favoritism I see people investing their money where they are likely to make the best return. I just think it is sour grapes when black millionaires are griping that thy are not getting a fair shake. The people on the street (except Al Sharpton) doing most of the protesting wouldn’t even be allowed to shine Washington’s or Rocks or any other black millionaires shoes. I agree awards shows are just pageants so actors can pat themselves on the back for mediocre performances and I too never watch them.

@Agrestic (from yesterday): No, there is no doubt in my statement that in high technical skill or high education fields that discrimination with the exception of age is non-existent. The nuclear field is begging for qualified people due to the dry up of people leaving the Navy and in health care we still have shortages of trained medical people. There may still be discrimination in unskilled labor, but if a person is willing to work hard in school or enter the military to learn a vital skill even the people in the ‘majority’ can find a good job.

Wow, the folks who love calling Lalo and the rest of us racists for bringing up actual, factual discrimination sure are whiny today! It’s been quite the entertaining kvetch-fest!

It’s very hard to give up your life of white privilege, even if you aren’t part of the establishment that’s being gored.
