Bev…. I think you have to take into consideration that it’s not just the throw pillow…but the combination of the throw pillow and a pretty fair ration of rum.
So yes…. the more the rum flows, the more the pillow resembles an admiral’s hat…or a pirate’s…
and the more the sea-going “memories” flow, as well….
But Admiral Cyril had best keep a weather eye out….First Mate Vanessa is stirring, to port…and may soon give the Admiral a mighty heave-ho, right over the starboard gunwales.
Rose! I’m sorry…several of the comments preceding mine were NOT visible when I was here very late last night.
That includes yours and the other one that mentioned Barbara, along with a couple of Bev’s pictures.Odd, because they were posted HOURS before I refreshed the page and posted!
And my post showed as among the first 15, when now it is clearly not (well… unless the order is messed up again,)I can only guess it was another GoComics glitch.
And I just replied to someone…. was it you, Dennis? … a few days ago about identifying Ballard St denizens.
But yes, I can see that it’s Barbara, of course. I do sometimes get her mixed up with Vanessa… Did you know they’re sisters? They’re both my clients at the salon.Don’t tell Barbara, please…. she’d be upset to be taken for a sibling 3 years older and a lot more…um….I mean, a lot less…let’s say… “upright.”In several senses of the word.
Susan, I saw Vanessa and she says that Barbara gets sea-sick in bed. Vanessa can’t understand why. It is Cyril and his throw pillow that does it, of course.
Dennis…If you’re looking for a storefront so you can open the business yourself….may I suggest Ballard Square, instead?Right in the heart of downtown…two blocks from the Tiki…
I’m sure StelBel and Mel O’Dell can find you something appropriate and affordable.
There are other fabric stores in town….Felicity’s Fine Fabrics and Feathers comes to mind….but there are also an awful lot of people who sew….some more awful than others…so I’m sure you’d be a success.
If you don’t mind a word of advice….just be sure to stock a good selection of polka dot material, especially in as many shades of purple as you can find, with white polka dots…all the ladies here, and a good many men, have a at least a few garments in that sort of fabric….
though they do seem to like every color polka dots to some degree.
They especially like the hollow, doughnut-shaped dots…

Barbara wishes Cyril would fall overboard and drown.

Barbara doesn’t just want to throw the pillow now, but it seemed like the only way to stop his snoring at the time.

Cyril puts others in mind of seeing his memories going.

Stel…. thanks for slowing down the gif yesterday.
I still see more than two syllables…but I think he might be saying “Goodbye everybody.”

I am sure the blue bed spread also put Cyril to thoughts of the sea. Is it a water bed?

hi Bev!I see that Times Square hasn’t changed a bit. Except the Market is a bank now, if I remember correctly.

Looks like a store front might be available in Times Square. Is that close to Ballard Street?
