I still find the new artwork to be a bit jarring – it’s not necessarily worse, just different. But I actually have found the humor to be a bit better of late than it had been before the art change. Granted, today’s strip is a bit lacking, but I found yesterday’s to be quite funny, and have been pleasantly surprised by the humor of quite a few of the recent strips.
Farside99 and others are under the illusion that this strip now belongs to the new artist. It does not. If that artist wants to draw “his way” he should start their own comic strip. When you take over a strip, the smart thing to do is to work on making a believable forgery.
The son handed the art work over to the grandson. Styles evolve over time. Don’t expect him to continue drawing it the way it looks today. The bigger question is to ask if the quality of the humor will continue.

Gee whiz. Somebody should send Mason some character design reference sheets.

I went into debt for a great high mileage car. Gas prices dropped greatly. Thank me for saving you on your gas bills.

I don’t care how popular it is…I do not care for the current artwork.

Click on the “Wizard of ID Classics” link… Looks a whole lot different than what you’re used to. Things change.

Does anybody know what happened with the art on this strip? The drawing has changed drastically.

I really dislike the new ‘look’. The original was fantastic.

I can’t believe folks are complaining about the appearance or content of the comic! I thought everyone here was only interested in the comments…

First fat folks. Now extra long faces. And did you sabotage the classic version, it has disappeared.

I don’t care for the gigantic nose on the king, but I still like the ideas… that’s the hard part for any strip!
