An online book, of his reminiscences, says that he did this for Mr. Eaton; but, later lists Breakfast-time – Morning Lessons as the title.Mr. Eaton had a daughter and 3 sons in his family; but, since her birth date isn’t listed, I’m not sure it was in the listed order. In 1879, she married a soldier younger than her oldest brother (why I think her birth order may be wrong); so, in 1857, she might have been the young girl on the stool, and her youngest brother (boys were dressed differently back then, hair braid seems wrong though) under the table.Or it may be a fictional scene. The artist’s Wikipedia page and collection.Second, of the 2 works, by this artist, that have, so far, appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog, to also appear here (2 total).
