My husband & I went to a Mexican restaurant one time. Hub asked for some extra peppers on the side. They gave him some garden-variety, regular ones. He munched them like candy, then said, “Oh, come on. I KNOW you have hotter than that!” The waiter came back out with some tiny, shriveled ones…and a big glass of water (Yes, WATER. Even I know that milk is what you use). The waiter – and two of the kitchen staff – watched aghast as he munched those down as well!

Would he keep running for milk if he looked over his shoulder and saw his wife just then?

I like ice cream after really hot stuff. The fat in the cream get’s between the pepper and the tongue, and the ice instantly cools everything down.

Mexican restaurants serve you a slice of tomato(tomahto) to cool the hots.

I’ve made (otherwise standard recipe) brownies with a tablespoon of cayenne. People either loved it or hated it; no middle ground.

Is it any wonder that Prilosec and Nexium are so popular right now with people constantly irritating their guts with hot stuff. I think it’s a drug company conspiracy.

Vicky should have lunch with Frazz sometime. Once when Caulfield wanted a really hot sauce to put on his sandwich (for the benefit of Mean Gene, who kept stealing his lunch) Frazz replied that he had some Dave’s Insanity in his maintenance closet.
