That would eliminate a large part of the gag. This view is reminiscent to shot at the end of the every episode of “The Waltons” . The differences, of course, being the spelling of ’night, and substituting a castle for the house.

Making it at a chess tournament would just make it a pun on the word “knight” and removes the whole Walton aspect.
