    By talking, the speaker seems self-contradictory. Also, if it’s a he, it’s a rooster, not a chicken.

    Chickens are either male (roosters) or female, which are called hens. Chicken is a generic term for the species, not a gender denotation. The ironic thing is that a speaking chicken is telling a parrot that chickens cannot talk - or did you not see the irony?
