It’s a classic caddy with steer horns, convertible, radio works. auto club brings a gal of gas to keep the battery charged. And it is on private property!
He had an old Morris Minor which he hefted over the curb and welded a mail box to. Then he paint the whole thing red white and blue.
The mailman liked it. He would toss oversized mail and packages through the driver’s window.
It lasted awhile. at least a few weeks while he argued with the county…if the guy down the street could have a pot-belly stove and someone else had an old pump, why couldn’t he have a vintage car as a mailbox stand?
Of course, the county prevailed.
The Morris disappeared into the night. Someone dug it up recently when a new housing developement went in nearby.
We now have a conventional wooden post. The mailbox falls off routinely.
Most areas, cars without wheels, if even visible from public property, are banned. Especially if the license plate tabs are not current. Fix is simple- follow up on the aborted arc from several years ago when Dusty was calling around to junkyards looking for wheels, and just put the wheels back on it. Heck with what his daughter wants- she can get the state to lift his license so he can’t drive it on public roads, but you don’t have to have a license to OWN a car.

They’ll need to put the wheels back on first.

Or, you could do what my husband did:
