tv: we now return to "the people v. oj simpson"..... verne: Everyone knows he did it. rj: Then why are we watching this thing? verne: John travolta's wig, I think it's alive. rj: I wonder if it has an alibi.
There were certainly screams of “racism” at the time of the trial. Then, after he was acquitted he wrote a book essentially confessing. Made it kind of hard to say he was only accused because he was black.
This is the first long-form miniseries to cover a real event in quite a long time, and it has a lot of well-known actors in it. It has hewed closer to the facts than the vast majority of “true story” movies. Hopefully those too young to remember the real events will learn that he really is guilty, and juries really can screw up big time.
TMO1I still hold to my prediction at the time: 47% OJ, 48% the lead detective and one to three other LAPD who didn’t believe blacks should have any fame, and 5% unknown person or persons with the same views but never came up in the so called investigation.

Utter incompetence throughout the LA law enforcement community. As one comic put it, “they couldn’t frame a guilty man.”

I wonder if the former knife owner lives in the Idaho panhandle. That’s where most neo-Nazi, LAPD involved in the case went to retire.

As a Bills fan, I’m sad he went to jail…
