Petrosino’s story was made into a very good movie starring Ernest Borgnine called Pay or Die : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054164/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_168
A comment on "Tracy’s Hall of Fame. Petrosino’s life was made into three movies Sidney M. Goldin’s The Adventures of Lieutenant Petrosino (1912); Pay or Die (1960), starring Ernest Borgnine; and The Black Hand (1973), starring Lionel Stander.
Then again, you never know about these things. Ten or so years ago, fans of the German silent cinema, including the prestigious Murneau Foundation, were convinced that every copy of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis in existence had been found, and they were still missing about twenty minutes of the original film. Pronouncing these twenty minutes lost for all time, they issued a 75th anniversary edition of what was left… only to have a 16mm print of the complete movie, including the missing twenty minutes, turn up in Argentina a couple years later! So maybe somewhere, in some corner of the world (probably a long way from Japan), a copy of the lost Japanese King Kong film might still show up.
And if anybody wants to expose every existing copy of King Kong Escapes to enough radiation to completely fog the film… I’d be all for that…
From the sweltering country to games of chance in the city. Specs reads the cards with keen eyes, but seems blind to the tight spot he is in. I like Casino Estrella very much. The casino brings to mind the Painted Lady’s bistro. The wide variety of locations used in the stories is quite Gouldian. While this grainy panel does not do it justice, The Painted Lady was one of many settings to captivate the imagination. Gould had a great eye for architecture and interior design. The furniture and lighting reflected thoughtful attention to detail. In both bistro and boudoir, the Painted Lady’s all too brief story was a prime example of excellent use of location. Team Tracy also excels in creating captivating locales.

Elsewhere Kiko holds the gun, who does he think he’s kiddingRead now the name above the strip, of him there is no ridding. These lines also remind me of the silly poems Spots’ partner in crime Ogden was always spouting, all the way through that story. I’m reading that continuity now, in the IDW reprint book.
Substitute Gweedo for Speedo and… everybody will be talking about our own Gweedo!.“Speedo” by the Cadillacs (1955) is one of my all time favorites!.Look and Listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpmmbhHo2rk.“Well, they often call me Speedo‘Cause I don’t believe in wastin’ time
Well, I’m known some pretty womenAnd that’s caused them to change their minds

Well now, they often call me SpeedoBut my real name is Mr. Earl
Well now, they often call me SpeedoBut my real name is Mr. EarlUmm-hm-hm
And now they got to call me Speedo‘Til they call off makin’ pretty girls"
And sometimes they keep searching in the same places hoping that the guys who searched previously made a mistake because they weren’t as diligent as they are. every so often some fan comes to the CBC Television archives to hunt for the Doctor Who serial “Marco Polo.” The episode aired in Canada and that may have been the only place outside of Britain. The CBC doesn’t have a copy, but these people keep coming because they’re sure that the professional archivists and all of the previous groups who have looked for this were wrong and it is there somewhere collecting dust. It isn’t.
I suppose “the rat in the trap” is code-speak for the treasure in the Star Casino. So Specs has fulfilled his side of the purported agreement and is ready for a gang in Costa Rica and the Good Life with Spicy. The trouble is that he does not really understand the ways of gangsters like DJ or those who employ them. But Tracy’s try against Kiko has a fair chance of succeeding, since Kiko has dropped the gun; and although Kiko is a big and strong thug, Tracy has the edge of surprise and his own years of hand-to-hand combat experience to draw on.For confirmation on the fate one way or the other of Wunbrow and Ivanov, we still wait (I confess I had expected it today!), and may have to wait a while if the fight between Tracy and Kiko lasts through another day or two of strips….
