I like the third panel with Mom’s breath; Watterson gives you an idea of how cold it is and even greater justification for Mom’s anger.

Calvin should watch out for mom’s ray gun

I always thought Calvin’s mom was holding an umbrella. But now I see that she is holding her coat, and the “umbrella” is shading.

I never dared sneak out at night; I lived on the third floor with no nearby trees, too many floorboards creaked, my mother had insomnia, and she was also an extremely light sleeper. It wasn’t ethics, it was convenience.

I slept in a converted Garage, with an outside entrance door. I kept the hinges oiled and man was it easy to come and go. It was also located on the opposite end of the house of all the other bedrooms.

If someone like Calvin said to keep watching the moon, I would turn around.

I like how he looks like he’s wearing prison garb in the last panel.

Who else loves it that Hobbes is just sprawled over Calvin’s head in the last panel?xxx

I’m suprised that mom is still functioning with a child like Calvin. She’s become suspicious in nature because of him.

Calvin’s use of the term “pachysandra” makes the joke.

I wish I had a “Hobbes” when I was a little boy. A.G.P. and I could have shared him, with his little brothers. I’ll bet his Mom would have understood as well.

I just looked up “pachysandra” and the highest it grows is 17.7 inches… so how could mom sneak up from “behind the pachysandra patch”???

Great way to give Calvin a heart attack mom maybe you should be paying for his funeral or better yet get a murder charge then you’re going to be in prison and be dead for murdering a child
