Reminds me when I was bemoaning England’s run in the World Cup and someone told me “there’s always next year” when the Cup only comes around every four years.
Sparky always said that CB was based on his own boyhood. I cannot imagine being so constantly and consistently put down and surviving to create such an enormously successful enterprise from it.
Occasionally I feel just like Charlie Brown, and then I remember what George Gobel said to Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show, “Did you ever get the feeling that the world was a tuxedo and you were a pair of brown shoes?”

Why should next year be any different from this year?

Maybe he one a round, but he’s still the biggest loser there is. It’s like he actively tries to lose.

You can stay up to bat forever by hitting foul balls in the line drive of life. Just saying.

Those that live by the sports metaphor die by the sports metaphor.

Shulz always did love his sports metaphors. Anyone else read his one-panel sports strip “It’s Only A Game”?
