Elephants are not to be trifled with, no matter where they roam. I’ve had the privilege of having one walk right next to the open wheeled vehicle I was in while on photo safari in South Africa. Let’s just say they’re not petite!
When I was in high school, members of our band (myself included) were playing for the local visiting circus when three elephants escaped and went on a tear through town. One smashed a car, one smashed through a Pizza Hut, and one ran a couple of miles right through our front yard (my mom was on the porch watching in fascinated terror). Good times.
@The Wolf In Your Midst, funny you should say that, as later on that same morning there was young bull who was in musth (a quite foul odor, by the way) who resented the vehicle being in his area. He gave us the foot stomp, followed by the head/trunk shake, the the full on trumpeting and subsequent charge. Needless to say, the driver was well prepared and we drove off. Said bull still was not happy and took off after us again!
no elephants loose here but we recently had some zebras escape from the circus here in philly. you know all those people who say if you hear hoofbeats look for horses not zebras? they’re wrong! sometimes it really is a zebra!

I like the look but not interested in owning one. I got a Jeep Wrangler instead, love it.
