I didnt know what all the commotion was about over at the Vagabond Village arena

I could hear screaming and applauding and whistling

Marg was supposed to be on stage singing**

So I go over to hear her sing and this is what I saw

Everybody will know what this song is:.

Sittin’ in the morning sun, I’ll be sittin’ when the day is done. Watchin’ the ships roll in, Then I watch ‘em roll away again.

It’s one of my favorites, and I’ve been there, done that.!!

I thought I would add to yesterdays post,, something about my friend whose place I spent the weekend at. She likes pets, I make the the word “pets” plural because she has a lot of pets, and I mean a bunch of them. There are:

Three dogs, small, medium and large. The small one is smaller than your average Chihuahua. I’ve got pictures of all three and will put them on my computer to use as avaters.

Three adult cats, two black and white, one dark gray and white. Got pictures of two.

There are four half-grown kittens, three of whom I can’t tell apart, and one that has the same markings as the other three, omly a bit lighter.

One large macaw, who will be an avatar of great beauty.

Five white doves, in her ber bedroom, which I did not see. I certainly heard them, though.

    Lots and lots of pets!

Oh, I forgot to add, they are all (I don’t know about the doves) very friendly and,,,,, Spoiled, too. Except the macaw, whose cage you do not want to get too close to.

    Good morning, Vagabonders!

Glad to hear you had a grand time at the petting zoo, Slim. It’s great to get away for a few days, huh?

Leaky…sorry about the “sad” part of Katrina…..I wasn’t being insensitive…..just thinking about the lucky few who are still around. Did you have much damage? Just seeing the pictures is horrible enough, but to live through it…….

I tried changing my avatar to a pic of the ship we were on, and GoComics said the file was too big. I can’t find any that fit their guidelines. If any of you know how to upload larger photo files (roughly 2.5 mb each) let me know so I can share a few. We went to a place called Liarsville near Skagway. It’s an old gold miners base camp where the reporters camped out because they didn’t want to make the 3-month trek up the trail to the Yukon. They would wait for the disappointed prospectors to return and would write up their stories as if they had been there personally. Between the “embellishment” the miners added and the “polish” the reporters did, you can see why they called it Liarsville. There was a “welcome to Liarsville” sign that listed the elevation of the camp as “3 or so”.

    MontanaLady…….My friend, I KNOW you weren’t being insesitive :-))

We were under martial law and werent allowed to return home. I didn’t know if I HAD a home to return to. I was away for 6 weeks. The mental anguish was the hard part.

When I got back, I was truly blessed to find the only damage was to the upstairs closet. A small leak in the roof, easily repaired. I hope to never experience anything like that as long as I live.

JanCinVV said, “I tried changing my avatar to a pic of the ship we were on, and GoComics said the file was too big.”

Try resizing the pix. The file size will get much smaller. If you don’t have any photo editing tools, you can use Paint. Click on Resize/Skew, then resize the photo to 50% or whatever. Be sure to resize it the same vertically and horizontally. You can check the file size before and after by right clicking on properties. Be sure to make a copy of the photo first so you’ll still have the original.
