If it was me, I would (admittedly rather passive-aggressively)sigh and leave the table with a comment about “fine…I don’t care anymore/whatever. Go watch your game.” .I was going to say something about keeping tabs on his team’s schedule, but I’m lucky enough in that my husband mostly goes for pro football. Predictable games, thus making them easy to work around (forget Sunday night, etc); not so much the other sports! So I can’t fault her for not knowing and wanting a little one-on-one time with him.

Checking your phone during dinner is rude – and, in this case, dangerous as well.

Don’t expect her to pay much attention to your attentions in the foreseeable future, idiot.

I’m the sports fan in my relationship, and my husband would understand me checking on the score if I wasn’t watching the game!

Don’t admit to that. Just put the phone under the tablecloth on your lap and pretend you’re being especially clumsy tonight …

He needs an app that will record dinner and let him eat it at a more convenient time.
