A plane has just gone into the side of a building causing great damage, but the nice policeman can still smoke his pipe and deal with a traffic accident?
Well… they are a few blocks from the scene. Folks are gawking and pointing, but you figure, what with all the vehicular air traffic, maybe this sort of thing is commonplace; no more unusual than a traffic accident to us. We do know that Doc Chase is Holly’s stepfather, but for some reason I always assumed that was something that happened post EOCAWKI. I guess we all know what happens when you assume things… ;-)
Hmmm… I wonder if Holly loses the baby after the accident and she feels that she wouldn’t have miscarried if she had let the nice man with the pipe call her an ambulance. Doesn’t quite seem deep enough to cause the trauma that Holly’s suffering but I don’t always know humans that well.
Well no one seems much concerned that a whopping big four engine prop plane just crashed into a building…..must be common in those days so everyone seems MEH about it.
Everyone assumes that when Holly says she lost the baby it must be by miscarriage or stillbirth. I wonder if the loss might be by the baby turning out to be something else – The pathogen that Apex developed might have been released in the area that Holly and Lynn were travelling that night. If so, Apex’s sudden generosity might just be to keep Holly et al where she could be observed until the ‘mutant’ was born.
Panel 3: Holly looks pregnant, possibly with the same child or children her “friends” gave her a baby shower to celebrate and prepare. Because a baby can never have too many grenades. So I’m guessing, this is the same pregnancy, about the same time. Aaro Marx alluded to string theory, maybe this is m-theory exposition. Pregnant women ordinarily have Doctors. And a visit to the Gyno might be in order for somebody who was just in a flying-car crash. Links in profile. Happy Birthday Aaron Neathery and CrookedWolf. sparklers.jpg
Given that the things that Wally and his companions have observed have changed quickly, this is definitely a show powered by Holly’s memories and intended to either let Wally & crew know how to help Holly or to force the former mouse waitress into a brutal form of therapy. The question is who is controlling it or why? Is this something Aaron Marx somehow set into motion? Does the ship’s AI have its own reasons for doing this? I am more than a little curious.

This is what happens when you forget to buckle your time-traveling ditto plot ex machina seat belt.

So…is Holly’s own physician who we think it would be?

I don’t think it’s a policeman, no uniform, but still….There’s no panic, everyone’s standing around like it happens all the time.

“…So much for these ditto illusions being harmless.”
But, what if it isn’t a ditto illusion?

I agree with rickD, but right now I’m more concerned with the idea that suddenly Wally et al can be affected by these vignettes.

That was another universe, not another time. Aaron is adamant that time travel will not be used.
