We moved from Blytheville, AR to Hope Mills, NC with a side trip to Jacksonville, FL. It was January and we left snow and 20 degree temps in AR. FL temps were probably in the 50’s? Not really sure, but much warmer than AR. We full on begged to go swimming in the ocean but Mom wouldn’t let us. All of the Floridians were bundled up like it was freezing and we were in our shirt sleeves and sweating. I was 7 at the time. LOL!
I live in NC west of Charlotte. It’s warmer here in October that it is in April but you’d never tell it by the way people act and dress. We put in our pool in ‘85. I’ve been in it every October since. I think I’ve been in it April maybe once or twice.

37 degrees F equals 2.8 degrees C. Either way it’s cold.

I was about to say, but Celarius kinda beat me to it….it also depends on where you are.
The October picture could be labelled Northern California, where I have lived all my adult life…we bundle up when it’s 45.
The March picture could be labelled Wisconsin…where, in high school, we threw off our coats and yelled “It’s Spring!”, as soon as it hit 33°.

It’s all about timing as I like to remind my family when they complain about it being to hot or cold.

After 50 years in Phoenix, I look for a sweater if it gets below 80.

They must be in OHIO.
37 in Oct feels a lot colder than 37 in March. Once you get those bitter days in between, I am surprised he wasn’t in shorts in the March picture.

Acclimation. In October, the body is used to much warmer temperatures and by the time March comes around the body is used to much colder temperatures.

There are people in California that dress like its 85’ year round. Why? Simply because it’s CALIFORNIA. It’s a uniform or something.

My husband would have loved to have had this to show the Exchange students from Thailand how their viewpoint would change, from fall to spring…
