The westernmost part of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is further west than any part of Indiana.It was while studying longitude and latitude in earth science class that two questions came up in the exercises, both of which are stated, rather than asked, here in the comments. I got both questions right: Which is further west? Reno, Nevada, or Los Angeles, California? Which extends further east? The Atlantic side of Panama, or the Pacific side of Panama? I’ve never forgotten those questions and answers.

Bilan, I know what you mean: the southernmost part of the USA is in Hawaii.The northernmost part of the CONTINENTAL U.S.A. (the lower 48 states) is not in Washington or Maine, but in Minnesota.
