Mom: This is just about the only stuff Petey will always eat. Alice: Is it food? Mom: Chef Blandoni's deflavored meals. A tasteless mixture of healthy, food like ingredients. Mom: carefully processed to remove flavor and texture. Available in 12 very similar varieties. Alice: Bleh. Mom: I call it Petey chow.

I’m surprised that this store has something like that in stock. What’s Petey going to eat if that food-packaging company goes out of business?

In the future it will be called batchelor chow.

Holy cr*p! So many canned products are just like Petey Chow, except that their labels are not as honest! Thank you for being truthful, Chef Blandoni!

Waaaait… A mixture? You’re telling me the ingredients are thoroughly touching each other? Eww, Petey, how can you eat that? Your picky eater ranking is falling as we speak!

And I’m still searching the supermarkets for those Natural Flavors and Caramel Color (organic, of course) to add to my recipes…

This is the trouble with parents now. Put the food on the plate and tell the kids that’s it. Eat it or go to bed hungry.

My son as a teen latched onto that stuff and ate a can of it every day after school. Ravioli with meat. Okay, whatever… He wasn’t picky at other meals, just, that’s what he wanted to eat after school. For most of the school year, and at a time he was really growing. I look at my tall kid and think, is that much of you really made of that?
