You’re never to old to learn. My mother was forced – in a not-so-subtle effort to replace her as a school secretary with someone one younger – to master computers at age 80.
She then berated my brother and myself for not getting her a computer, sooner.
She took to it like a duck to water.She was a great letter writer and fell in love with emails. As a secretary, she thought Spell Checker was the greatest invention since sliced bread.
She passed away suddenly at 89 back in 2001. Since we joked back then about burying her with a telephone – her favorite pastime. I often wonder what she’d be like today with the new Smart Phones and iPhones. She wasn’t one to fear technology, rather, she embraced it wholeheartedly.
BTW She “retired” finally at age 83 but was still active in many organizations including the employees union, til the day she died.
Today’s was kind of funny but I think Andy really belongs in a low-tech era. After all, how many classic strips were there of Andy or Flo taking a bath in the ol’ tin tub with water delivered by buckets? (Of course, in Andy’s case, Flo had to lug the buckets, but he only took a bath once a month, so……)

A friend of mine done a Work Placement at the Job Centre by helping people on the computers to do job search. Apparently he loved his placement and I teased him by saying it’s the first time anybody has ever loved being at the Job Centre.
My longest Work Placement was 8 months where I was an Admin Assistant.
there’s a troll posting mean things to dogsniff, several posters say they are flagging them, even the cartoonist posted – then those disappeared. I see a new nasty remark today from same troll to dogsniff. I wonder how this is let to go on? .sometimes people jump on a person just because they can. then that person carries it into their day, dumps it where they can.
