Don’t say “candy” within both Snnopy’s and Charlie Brown’s earshot, Violet; there could be come competition.

That sounds familiar, only dog treats instead of candy and threatening to give the treat to a different dog.

Back in the 50s, the dangers of giving certain things to dogs were not well-known. Candy is not for dogs.

Funny things none of the things we are now not supposed to give dogs etc. never hurt them.We had a wallaby for breakfast it had porridge, with, brown sugar and Milo dregs on it. Followed by toast and dripping. The only things we could not give it, for obvious reasons was minties and toffee lollies. It also loved eating the cooked meat of leg bones, wallaby in preference to mutton. Lived for 14 years before dying of a none food related illness.

Many years later, Snoopy would recall this command and start to become more human…

I never made my dog speak for a treat. He just waited for the right moment and took it. Hey; wear’s my chocolate bar?
