I’ve said it before, but I love the background artwork in these early Sunday strips. Maybe because it would take me six weeks to draw Chuck’s truck and it would still look like I did it with my left foot. It my one gripe about the later strips. The backgrounds got almost insignificant.

A penny for a balloon. I guess inflation has hit the balloon market since.

Get it? Balloon-inflation. BWAAhhhhhaaaaahhaaa…..
