I don’t know much about music, but what’s a dirge? (I thought Schroeder liked Ludwig, not Frédéric.)
Chopin? A dirge? Is it maybe the third movement of his Piano Sonata #2 in B-flat minor? I really like Marche funèbre: Lento, one of the best known of it’s kind. If not the best known.
