Today everyone should be issued a soft little blue blanket. When Charles Schulz introduced this everybody was trying to learn how to cope with a crazy age vividly depicted (somewhat later) in the dark humor of “Dr. Strangelove; Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.” Baby Linus still looks very worried.
