    As Satchel once said in Pearls Before Swine, “A lot of things are edible that aren’t actually food.” He meant things like the TV remote, cushions etc. but I’d add gum to the list.

    My maternal mother could never chew gum without swallowing it. Once when I was young I kept giving her pieces and saying “Now DON’T SWALLOW IT!” I finally gave up or else I was gonna run out of gum for myself. I also didn’t like her chewing hard candies I gave her.

    I think medical science (or possibly the Internet) has proven that when you swallow your gum, you prevent any watermelons sprouting from the seeds you swallowed………

    Does your chewing gum lose its flavoron the bedpost overnight?If your mother says don’t chew it,Do you swallow it in spite?Can you catch it on your tonsils,Can you heave it left & right?Does your chewing gum lose its flavoron the bedpost overnight?
