Charlene: You hired a rubbish removal company to dump your fathers things?! amazing outfit! cleaned out the joint rickety split! If you father owned a sketch book belonging to Marc Chagall theres no telling what else he had! That old packrat had tons of stuff like that!

This is making me cringe… Then again, Ray didn’t have much of an opportunity to learn about art in his younger years.
Maybe Carla knows where this stuff was dumped… and when Charlene (or Ray) asks Yolanda about the rugs…

The clean out company just closed and everybody moved undisclosed locations. A lot of them know what they are looking at, or know appraisers.

I still don’t get why Ray would have felt the need to clean the space out knowing it was going to be demolished. He must be more civic-minded than his past would indicate. Unless, of course, he foresaw where this story line was going…? Nawww, couldn’t be.

Ouch. This is making me cringe too! I hope that the potential art that was there did not get destroyed, and I hope that Ray does not lose out because of his lack of awareness of its importance, and I hope that the rubbish removal company did not in effect “swindle” him in the process of cleaning out the warehouse.

Some people just hate clutter to the point where they see anything that’s not neatly organized as “Trash” and have the immediate urge to get rid of it, regardless of potential losses.
And clearly Ray is one of them. Interestingly, my “other” favorite Gocomics cartoon addresses the “clean up” issue today as well, though not nearly as dramatically as JumpStart:http://www.gocomics.com/phoebe-and-her-unicorn

You know, some people are just destined to poverty, through no fault but their own.Ray here would probably refuse a Lotto Scratcher full of winning numbers “coz it’s all scratched up, get me a new one."
