I question the salute, Herr Mechanical Pencil.
It’s always a race to see who has the write stuff.
The pencil was/is the last symbol of optimism. It has seven inches of graphite and .25 inches of eraser.
I still have (and still use) the mechanical pencil I got for my 7th grade drafting class. I’ve had it over 35 years.
