I regularly help some friends of mine with their church pageant. the ideas start with drinking and after we set the atrocity to paper and sober up, we back it up to the point it’s actually acceptable and pretty good.
as an example : was it three kings or three wise men who show up? BOTH! followed by all sorts of sets of three-three stooges, three blind mice, three scottish witches while all along joseph is just trying to get the baby to sleep “Some fat guy in a red suit just landed on the roof.” “NO! we’re really fully up!”
With the humor is the idea that all are welcome. the kids love it.
The less said about the archangel guido who, in a seperate play tells the wise men not to go back to gherod the better, but sky masterson wudda been proud.
