One thing I don’t miss is the K-Tel ads. There was one company, not sure if it was K-Tel, that marketed big compilation albums but the fine print revealed that the songs were covers. A friend bought one and I about wet myself when he proudly played it. “Hey, that doesn’t sound like the Stones!”

I have had to disassemble and pressure wash expensive speakers to get Bullfrog Whitstein out of them.

Did anyone ever come up with a reason for the Slim Whitman fad? I heard rumors at the time that it was a communist plot to break American spirit.

“Bullfrog” later had a second career once his “Budweiser” add came out. He did the “er”.

Wait! I was brainwashed to love Slim Whitman, and now I’ve got to love Slim Whitstien? This is too hard for me, a bear of feeble brain!
