I finally get it. This is a satire of the famous “Hitler diaries” that were published by the German magazine Stern in 1983, and verified as genuine by a number of “experts,” until it was shown that they were written on paper stock that didn’t exist until well after WWII.
The characters shown in the final frame? I recognise Dongwood (from ‘Dongwood and Blandie’) and mmmmmmaybe Kilroy was there at the bottom, but the others?
