give the 1980’s some credit, their inexperienced candidate had been the governor of California, and delegated a lot to experts. (thank goodness).

Could have been worse … they could have ended up with a former game-show host who can’t even stumble through reading a teleprompter. Or drink a glass of water without a sippy cup …

No, you don’t ’t wan tFred for several reasons. 1.) He thought Ni*on and Re*gan too liberal. 2.) Nothing was going to get him to leave his vineyards in the Russian River valley. 3.) By this time (1984 – 1988) his throat cancer and leukemia had come back with a vengeance. Not all smokers (Fred was good for 2 packs+ per day for 30+ years) get lung cancer.
