In college I was always a fan of olive loaf. Either a half pound of it from the Publix deli or a package of the Oscar Meyer variety if I was in a hurry plus a package of Swiss cheese would make 3 or 4 decent sandwiches for about a dollar each. Of course I would have preferred some ham or roast beef but at the time on a budget I simply did not have the coin. Nice change from ramen noodles, a $0.99 cheeseburger, 2 for $0.99 hot dogs or 7-11 Nachos….. My daughter is Vegan which means for her it is mainly veggie or bean based soups, salads or occasionally a veggie burger. Kind of bums me out but she is definitely eating better than her old man did when he was her age at the same university. Tallahassee has a Dreamland BBQ (a branch of the famous Tuscaloosa BBQ) but I can not take her there as there is nothing on their menu which she will eat but I will bring a slab of their ribs home to Tampa via the take out window anytime I am up in the capital city.
The only thing different today is that someone would be sent to get ego-centric analysis of the situation from Chrissy Teigen, Meghan McCain and a handful of Kartrashians.

Substitute ‘media’ for newspapers, and nothing has changed.
