I remember when this first came out. It was not too long after “The Day After” was on TV and “Wargames” with Matt Broderick and Phoebe Cates was in the cinema.
I hate it when I go to the bank and the teller starts frowning at the computer screen and stops typing. “Is anything wrong?” “Um, no, no”! Still frowning and staring!!
Actually, the basement of the local library is probably your best bet. If it’s a very old structure (pre-1960, say), the crackers might be a little stale, but it should be well-protected. If it’s modern design… kiss your fanny goodbye.

Hurry to that shelter, Ollie. We’ll need your smarts after you pass that butterfingered stage.

A big worry is that that might actually happen.

Two people you least want to utter “oops”, your hair stylist and the guy running a nuclear reactor.

The insinuation, from the comment that Opus says in the 4th panel, is that this has all happened before. Hmmm…

That was an utterance I had to try and stay away from in my job of fixing user PC problems…

“Oops!” Shades of classic Bill Cosby, back when we could still laugh at his humor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6X7h1v4Y6GI

Run for your lives!
No; wait. Never mind. You could not run far enough or fast enough.
Just say your bye-bye prayers….
