This was a good arc from Breathed. I still keenly and fondly remember one of Marlin Perkins’ Wild Kingdom shows where Marlin and Jim Fowler were in the Amazon basin and Marlin had Jim and a local guide named Pablo (I think) in the water of the Amazon and Marlin was saying “Jim will now tackle the dangerous and unpredictable anaconda…” Followed by: “Jim and Pablo are in a bit of strife….” as Jim and Pablo are almost dragged underwater by said anaconda. Go to commercial break and Marlin is holding the snake as if getting it was a piece of cake….. That show was quite entertaining and educational: RIP Marlin and Jim Fowler…….
I was always fascinated by the Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom adventures. Through them, I was able to see places and events I had only read about. Later in life I was able to go to some of those places, though I never wrestled anacondas (though I did get to see a smaller one) when I was in Brazil, though a Brazilian Lancehead gave me quite a start.
Poor Opus. His silly pith helmet is upside down, his safari-trekker outfit from Banana Republic is tattered and torn, he’s confused, and worst of all he’s channeling Marlin Perkins!

“Wild Kingdom” and “Star Trek” mash-up:
“Now… let’s watch… as Jim… wrestles… an Anaconda…”
“He’s… dead, Jim…”
