I know it’s slang for “hearty”, but it’s like fingernails on a blackboard, too.

Since “party” is being used as a verb, what follows should be an adverb rather than an adjective. So “party heartily” or "party hardily,’ your choice.

I mean, if you’re going to be a stickler about such things, you should be prepared to go all the way…

Or “in the eye of the storm”, which is not the worst.
