I miss the phone on the kitchen wall with a pencil on a string that was too dull to write the number on the wall. Your sister would have a hushed conversation, then you would rush over to see what boy’s name was added.

I’m 50 (I’ll be 51in Dec.) and I remember when my grandma taught me how to use them. Texting? There was no texting!!

You teach them to use your phone, and they’ll teach you to use theirs.

Anyone besides me remember having the operator ask for the number and party lines ? .I did get a cell for the car.

We used a cranky phone and had to go through the operator! Our ring was two longs and a short!

Actually, they work just fine in most states, as the digital is an add-on to the existing telephone system. Here in Texas, for instance.
