An, unfinished basement, is usually just a basement that is not used for a living space.( rec room, man cave, etc.) Mostly, they are used for storage and laundry rooms.
Basement is not only unfinished, it’s just started. Some guy told me his father made him and his brothers dig a basement under their house while they lived in it. Took over a year to dig it by hand.
