Before Blaze moved in, Notta apparently had to do all the caregiving and housework herself, for who knows how long. This is not to excuse Notta’s controlling behavior, but Blaze’s comments and the frustration she’s feeling may give us a window into the kind of desperation Notta was feeling before Blaze showed up. How long had Notta been without a break? I agree that Blaze needs to get away from Notta, but I think there’s reason to be a little sympathetic toward Notta here. She does seem to care for Purdy (she always has, since she basically raised him), and after working around the clock to care for him (which Blaze basically admits is a full-time job), possibly for years, I can understand why Notta would have been desperate to hand everything off to someone else and take it easy for awhile. I say this because many of us (including myself at times) have had the tendency to imagine the worst about Notta without giving much consideration for the kind of life she’s been forced to live, and without being mindful of the many sacrifices she’s made to take care of her brother.
Good morning you all, BTW! Or good whatever your time of day is. I like Blaze, and I’d love to see her become one of the good girls! Maybe coupling with Lee Ebony
Gweedo stated,Good morning Sgt. Carter Bill ! If our Sarge were a woman I would be at very full “attention” !-——————————————————————-.NO way, Gweedo. You can have Dethany as your new sergeant. Who is Carter? G’morning.
Willy007 and Charlie make good points regarding Notta’s complexity. She is sympathetic, to a degree. Even when her husband, George, was alive she could be quite vulnerable. She so despaired at the horrible treatment they received from Piggy that she wept and said she did not want to live. Cornered, she made the best of her despicable circumstances, deceiving Piggy and assisting Tracy. George was not initially aware of how far Piggy’s abuse had gone. He was coerced at gun point into flying the Space Coupe to aid in the late night theft of an armored car when things took a turn back at Piggy’s house. Much later, he was avenging Notta’s treatment at the hands of Piggy Butcher when Sam and Tracy arrived. Firing at the door in a panic was a deadly mistake, and George paid with his life.Jailed for her role in Piggy’s death, Notta soon learned of Purdy’s dire circumstances. She only knows what she read in the paper. Notta misapprehends the nature of events leading to Purdy’s “death.” Bitter, isolated for years, she seems to have spoiled a chance at what could have been a good relationship with Blaze. More trouble ahead for Notta would be my guess.
JPuzzleWhiz reminded,Take your pick — the Sgt. Carter from “Hogan’s Heroes” or the Sgt. Carter from “Gomer Pyle, USMC”.-————————————————————————-.My tired old 81-1/2 year old brain wasn’t functioning when I asked. I remembered the Gomer Pyle sergeant after I replied. Thanks for the refresher, JPuzzleWhiz.
For a while, when I was living in Darkest Iowa, there was a local chain of laundromats which sold beer, so you could have a drink while you waited for the spin cycle, called “Duds and Suds”. I don’t know if they’re still around, but I suspect that Mike is referencing them.
Night-Gaunt suggested,Brain tired? You need some of Uncle Fester’s patented brain juicer, pure electronic fun!-—————————————————————————.Will I be able to light a light bulb?
Gweedo assured,I’m okay with that, Bill… As long as she is 100% honest to goodness all girl !-——————————————————————-.But for Rikki, Dethany would be my #1 choice!
I agree about the complexity of the Notta girl and wonder that if one of those “special” doctors can make Purdy his old self …
It’s hard to say if Dr. Klipoff did him a service way back then or not. I get the impression that Bribery is sending a steady stream of medication his way. Our current supply of mad scientist doctors was sent off on a one-way trip into space.
Except Zak Snyder killed him of in Batman v Superman…
You must have seen a different “B v S,” because I don’t recall that Jimmy Olsen was killed off. And they wouldn’t have anyway, since he’s alive in the comic book continuity.____________________
Spoilers!
Never went to see Batman v Superman, and that scene is an example of why.
Blaze is just beginning to open up to “T-Bolt,” but if Lee can “psychologize” her well enough, pretty soon she’ll be telling all and seeking a helping hand out of her present predicament. Since I (sorry guys) have no sympathy for Notta Fallar, that would be an ideal resolution in my view; then maybe Purdy could get some real, professional help beyond Notta’s ministrations….

Sounds as if Blaze has given up pretty much everything for her woman.

Also note, Blaze isn’t naming names.

Speaking of names …
Anyone happen to catch the full name of the place?

Blaze could always get a job in the next Superman movie as Jimmy Olsen’s stunt double.

I suppose it’s possibility (about Lee swinging), but I think it’s just a buddy situation here.

Oh, and apparently the laundry consists of a lot of bedding. I imagine Purdy goes through a lot. (I spelled “Purdy” wrong in the last comment.)

Blaze and Hot look(ed) very small when they wear the Jimmy Olsen/Pee Wee Herman suit with bow tie.
I wonder what her other sisters names are? Glow, Flame?

" I agree that Blaze needs to get away from Notta,. . ."-————————————————————-
I thought she was there - because she ‘wanted’ to be ! (?)
Her precise ROLE in the ‘affair’ really seems to raise some Questions … ?
Particularly as the ‘Transgender Scenario’ seems very ‘Topical’ at the moment . . .
Has Blaze been “rising” to the occasion ?? (no pun intended)
It may all be accidental (?) but certainly seem “timely” (indeed, ‘Spot On’) given the flow of real time events !

Frankly I’ve had the impression that Blaze is more like a slave to Notta. Almost like Mr. Bribery sold her to Notta.
