Ah yes, the card files! I remember spending a long time trying to find what I needed for the paper I was writing. Then you go to find the book and it wasn’t where it was supposed to be.I once watched my grandson write a paper with a split screen on the computer with Wikipedia on one side and his paper on the other side!
Loved the card catalog system and the rubber date stamps. I know that today’s system is more efficient, but wanted to be a librarian while growing up so I could catalog the books and stamp them out. sighhhh.
