Selling shoes or being airline steward-both deal with the public, and I can tell you that is stressful. When I was hiring for our office, I always knew that the ones who said “I enjoy working with the public” didn’t have much experience. A lot of the “Public” considers you their servant. One of my early jobs was Sears linen department, and spent much of my time refolding towels the public had flipped out to look at them and just tossed down.

Be thankful they did. If they all folded them nicely and put them back neatly on the pile you wouldn’t have had a job.
