He’s great with live hardware. Which other applicant shot down a chopper? The Red Rascal is a legend in his own mind.

Red Rascal was one of my childhood friends, too bad he was sensitive about losing. Seems he has made up for his inadequacies.

Poor comic book character. Walking into another canned setup. I guess his non-existent “friends” need to get their rocks off somehow these days. ;-7

And there are several ‘Red Rascals’ on facebook. Yea, okay, I looked.

OK, one of you lurkers has to come out of hiding and take the name “Red Rascal.”

I once heard an Edsel called a ‘legendary” car, too.

“Legend” once referred to the life of a saint, but, appropriately enough for this story line, it’s no archaic.

Overkill Systems knows that Red Rascal’s fictions provide a great cover for their illegal operations, just as GT uses this satirical strip (the RR arc) to divert us from political reality.

“Legend” means literally “stories worth reading”—-originally, the lives of saints but nowadays everything from presidential memoirs to comic strips. Saints’ lives could only be read by the literate 17% of adults but everyone can “read” comics. Such is the progress we’ve achieved by mass literacy.

I second Radish’s nomination. So, he should be the patron saint of what – Twitter twits? Creative reality? RPG-ers?

palin drome, I think that your first paragraph nailed it. As amusing as I think the Red Rascal is, I don’t see how he fits into anything relevant. It’s 2 weeks of voting “present”, but I’m gearing up for the next Palin-a-thon scheduled for pre-election October (perhaps with a teaser lead-in in late September).

Maybe GT is just catching his breath in order to work on his Cordoba House series. Or, maybe not, but wouldn’t Duke make a great spokesperson for it?
