Annie gets no respect, I say – no respect! All the singing cats just made my morning. Thanks to all who posted those. I will come back later and look at them again – too cute! bbear – funny stuff as usual. I can relate to the ‘so busy doing nothing’. The cat with the sunglasses is cute.

We raised just over $2100 for the cats yesterday at our bigrummage sale. It was HOT HOT HOT – mid 90s all day. We started setting up at 6:30 and ended at 3. We have enough stuff to fill the uhaul again for the next one in Oct. Susan and Larry drove it up to Kanab to store at a friends’ place until then. We priced things really low (people here won’t pay much for anything) so that $2100 was done on 50 cents to$5. We did have a brand new futon set for $200 that sold.

If I was young and just starting out, there was a lot of beautiful cut class stuff I would have snatched up. We had brand new Christmas stuff that was mostly left. It should sell in Oct.

I could barely walk by the time we got home and my feet are still sore. My arms are burned – yes, I should have used sunscreen. I am stupid. I took lots of ice water in my Yeits but there were a few helpers who took NOTHING to drink. We keep a case of water in the truck so that helped out.

Tomorrow I’ll order flowers for the owner of the bbq place who lets us use his parking lot.

I was on the phone with Dr Susan a bit ago and the doorbell rang. Usually I would ignore it but I saw it was Susan.

There was a cat emergency.

Four months ago we a adopted a kitty to single man. He loved that cat. It got out because he said the handyman left the door open. He put up flyers, has been driving around his neighborhood and all the way over to where she came from all this time. He looked at other cats we had and none of them were right. He wanted HIS cat back.

Last night at 9:00, he called Susan.. A little girl found his cat and took it to him. Kitty cried all night long.Susan said she would go over this morning to see her.

She looked at her belly. Boobies! How could she have babies? We never send out an unspayed female.

She told the man to stay there. She put kitty in a carrier and went to where the little girl found her.

She had to make a terrible decision but she let kitty out. Kitty made a beeline for an old boat and disappeared inside. Susan found the owner at home, explained the situation and got permission to go onto the boat. She found them!! Mama had 3 beautiful babies behind a piece of wood. She said it took her 45 min to get the babies and then mama. They are about 3 weeks old and had been away from food for 17 hours. Much longer and they would be dead. Plus, it was like an oven in there.

I was the closest person (just across SR 9,

I got the kitten room ready in about 5 mins. All I had to do was bring in a litter box, food, water and make a bed for them.

They are in there nursing and I’ll take pictures later.

Update on kitties: Everyone has eaten and slept all afternoon. I just checked on them. Mama has them in the play cube and I don’t want to just reach in and grab one.

They are not feral at all. Mama is very sweet; she doesn’t mind us picking up the babies. She likes to be petted.

Susan is the real savior here. What she went thru to get this little family is astounding. She and Larry are going back to the boat in a bit to see if they can hear any others.

We’re sure there were just 3. Otherwise mama would have been crying all afternoon for her missing baby. That’s what she did all last night and this morning until they werereunited.

But, she ate a whole can of kitten food and has dipped intothe crunchy kitten food. We use that for nursing mothers because they need the calories.
