MANSFIELD, Texas — A Siamese cat recently cited by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s oldest living cat did not live to enjoy the title.

Scooter marked his 30th birthday on March 26. However, owner Gail Floyd of Mansfield, Texas, told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Scooter had died by the time Guinness conferred its title on April 8.

Dr. Tricia Latimer, a Mansfield veterinarian, says Scooter had lived to the equivalent of about 136 human years.

Scooter wasn’t Guinness’ oldest cat of all time, though. That mark belongs to a fellow Texas cat who lived to be 38.

Today was the big rummage sale we had to postpone for the past 3 weeks because of wind and rain.

We raised just over $2100 for the animals. Brad, Larry and Susan and I started unloading the uhaul and other vehicles at 6:15 this morning. We got home at 4:30.

It was in the 90s all day and everyone is dead tired, hot, etc.

We had enough stuff left over to fill the uhaul AGAIN – which Susan and Larry are now driving up to Kanab to store in a friends’ garage until Oct.

I have not had time to look at all of the postings for today but from what I saw when I scrolled down to the bottom, the fishie pics are adorable!
