Well, truth of the matter is, Abner is already 2 for 2 in regards to beating Tracy…..it has taken outside intervention to save his butt both times, lol.
Abner Kadaver, ever the machiavellian, truly and indeed, the worst villain.Rikki his henchwoman, devoted to him is she, fears what could happen to such as he.Abner is a schemer,of that there is no doubt. What happens next,we may yet find out.Of all the Rogues in Dick Tracy’s gallery, few can match himfor worse than battery.Whatever he’s up to,who can say, nothing but woeif he has his way.
These two sure “feel” a lot for a couple of demented, coldhearted sickos. Sorry if I’m offending anyone, but I’ve never cared for either of these characters.
Sigh, when love sweet love is in the airit magnifies our greatest fearto lose the one our heart adoresa flood of tears will hit the floorsstubbornness has caused much painother than love what is to gain?To drift away with your hearts desireshould matter more than revengful fireunfortunately that lesson is lostin a sea of choices regardless of costthe fairytale ending is only a dreamnothing is ever as good as it might seem.
The “story map” at http://dt.canadatoyou.com/nottafallarmove/ has been updated with another week.
So where are we now? The police side of things (told from Dick Tracy’s point of view) and the criminal side (in the person of Putty Puss and Screwball) came together once already in this storyline, providing us with an important interim climax, and this week, Tracy’s point of view and the villain’s (this time Blaze Rize’s) point of view have once again come together, signalling the beginning of the climactic sequence.
While we are likely to see some more of Blaze and Notta as Blaze prepares her to be captured, the climax is coming. Blaze had better be careful, though, because Notta is not going to like it if she finds out what’s been going on. I think we’re about half-way through what I’m currently considering to be the final act. I had tentatively titled it “Notta is Going Down” which I think is sufficiently ambiguous that I’m sticking with it for the time being.
Three days this week were devoted to the largely unrelated matter of Abner and Rikki’s latest activities. A bit of deduction leads me to the conclusion that Dethany Dendrobia is likely to be involved in the next story. She told Tracy at the detective’s conference that she had already met Rikki (whose sense of fashion she’d fit right into) and since she’s an expert on the goings-on in cyberspace, she could also get involved with the growing Matty Squared problem. Do both of these threads fit together? We will have to wait and see!
Character roundup
I never got to do my character feature last week, so I’ll mention Mayor Armstrong staff member who came running in last Saturday to see if she’d heard the news, the only addition to the storyline last week. He looks like Gomez Addams from the cartoons that inspired the Addams Family TV series or maybe like Peter Lorre.
Moving on to this week, there were seven characters referenced for the first time in this storyline in the last seven days. Luckily for long-time readers, the first six were already known from previous storylines. (Well, the district attorney was mentioned several times, but we’ve probably never seen him or her and may or may not ever do so.)Flakey Biscuits, Hot Rize, BB-Eyes The district attorney, Abner Kadaver, Rikki Mortis
The last “character” hasn’t been shown yet, because the Vampire Mechanique is hidden in a box. Although not a human, I’m guessing this might be a robot of some sort and may turn out to be important later on.Vampire Mechanique
Announcement coming
I mentioned that I might be announcing something new for my website as early as today, but though I’ve been furiously gathering data this past week, nothing is ready to show yet. Stay tuned.
Okay, I figured this was going to be a one or two day thing with Rikki and Abner, but we’re on day 3 now. Is Sunday going to wrap up the existing storyline that has been left hanging? Or has Rikki gotten chatty with a neighbor on her walk back from the laundromat so we’re still waiting for her to get back?
I’m sure the Abner story is going to be great and all, but this is now the 2nd strip that has just dropped a story (Phantom wrapped about 80% of it up; this is at about 75%) this week. It’s a little weird.
Awwww! Rikki and Abner, the couple we love from afar but would not want for our next-door neighbors! Rikki is showing her soft, human/humane side, while Abner Kadaver plays the part of the Mad Genius totally committed to his improbable cause. Rikki has good reason to be fearful for her tall, sartorially splendid but death’s-head ugly beau….
Do you know where I can find that comic, in its entirety, online?
No, I don’t, although there are lots of used copies for sale all over the place especially since it was reprinted in 2010. There is a large amount of it (about third) here.
By the way, I have already reconsidered my act/chapter breakdown. We are starting the final act tomorrow. The one we just finished concerned Blaze being convinced to testify.

It appears the two of them have a relationship…..a bit odd one perhaps, but a relationship nevertheless…..

“Abner Kadaver’s keys to success” He still thinks he will succeed where others have failed. He’s forgetting his own “feeble efforts” in the past.
@JonahHex They are definitely in a relationship. I think that fact has been well established.

Ali was sort of the Anti-Trump in many ways, a phenomenally charismatic and principled figure whose appeal crossed race and gender lines.
Also quite possibly the greatest boxer of all time, though that might ultimately be a more subjective appraisal.
