Richard's Poor Almanack August in Washington By Richard Thompson Here it August again, and everybody's left town; everybody but you, a couple thousand tourists, and me. What can we do to take care of things until everybody gets back? Cat sit for the Supreme Court Heeerrre Kitty Kitty Kitty Kitty! Among them the 9 Supreme Court Justices have 143 cats, all spayed (especially Justice Thomas's). Cool take care of them till October? You? Play patsy for the White House So I said, hey, let's fire all those attorneys. The White House really needs an expandable low-level staffer to take the responsibility/blame/fall for some stuff. Interested? Run The Smithsonian Enjoy your visit folks, and be sure to tip your curator! The Smithsonian is down to only 6 employees! Who will keep the place clean, run the gift shops & still have time to add to the collection?

Luckily I visited DC in September and had two days of perfect weather after two and a half days of either humidity or overcast.

Fortunately, it’s not August yet, as Washington tries harder every year to be more European, for no good reason at all….(For those who don’t know, much of Europe closes down in August for vacation.)

What exactly is the difference between spayed and especially spayed?

@neatslobIf one asks a cat if she wants to be spayed and she purrs “Not especially” then you give her the basic model.
